SteelFace® Inductive Sensors
Rugged Sensors for Tough Applications For error-proofing and part-present applications in heavy manufacturing, inductive sensors are often - by necessity - placed directly in harm’s way. Impact, abrasion, and particulate erosion can destroy conventional plastic-faced sensors and their thin metal bodies. Balluff SteelFace™ sensors are designed and built tough to survive longer in your most abusive applications. Machined from solid stainless steel bar stock, SteelFace sensors can extend life expectancy where blunt impact, abrasion, and erosion quickly bring standard sensors to their knees. Balluff SteelFace sensors are available in 1X standard range and 2X or 3X extended range, along with special variants like PTFE-coated housings to repel weld spatter, and ferrous- or non-ferrous-selective electronics to sense a variety of different metals. Specify SteelFace for the toughest new applications to ensure high-throughput, trouble-free production. Retrofit existing production lines with rugged SteelFace sensors to gain back lost productivity, cut maintenance requirements, reduce sensor replacement costs, and boost overall plant productivity.
