RFID for Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV)
In today’s competitive manufacturing environment, automation is the key to cost effectiveness in domestic manufacturing. AGV’s are one of those automation methods employed today. With the sophistication of today’s AGV’s, dynamic routing can maximize the effectiveness of an AGV.
Balluff’s industrial RFID systems provide a durable and cost effective means to tell the AGV its location anywhere in the plant. For example, Balluff’s BIS M series offers compact, self-contained readers that can be integrated directly on the AGV to read tags mounted in the plant floor and programmed to identify where the AGV is at all time. Knowing its location allows it to make decisions on where to go next which provides maximum flexibility in multiple track circuit’s throughout the plant.
