A simply configured bus protocol allows up to 16 BIS L-400-043 processor units to report their data cyclically to a host system. In the Easy Loop system, both supply voltage and data are sent over a standard read head cable for simplified connection. The maximum extension length for each channel is 80 m.

All processors work independently of each other, allowing flexible operation. The data can also be read out of a data carrier on-the-fly in many applications as it passes by the read head; making stopping to read the data carrier unnecessary.

The optional communications module converts the RS-422 processor interface into a single common RS-232 or Ethernet TCP/IP interface channel. An optional communications module can also be located between the processors and the host system, providing galvanic isolation between the supply voltage and the processors. Since no bus settings are necessary, removing or adding processors is a simple task. After adding or exchanging a processor, the system is ready to use again.
