BWL L- Style Self-Contained Thru-Beam Sensors
BWL is designed for hazardous duty
situations.
The BWL should be seen as a housing variation of the BGL, making our entire line of self-contained thru-beam sensors more flexible with respect to sizes and form factors. The advantage of this new housing style is the larger opening angle of the forks. With a larger opening angle it is now possible to present objects to the sensor from multiple directions.
Balluff offers two types of BWL sensors:
 |
BWL Standard Series
- Rugged aluminum housing (similar to BGL housing)
- Units available with visible red light emission or class II laser emission
- Five gap sizes to choose from

BWL Heavy Duty Series
- Rugged corrosion resistant steel housing withstands abuse
- High power IR light burns through heavy contamination
- Easy installation

The L-shaped sensor can be used in a variety of applications where a fork style sensor (BGL) would be too large or inappropriately configured:
- Position verification
- Parts dimension verification
- Parts counting in assembly lines
- Level monitoring in tanks
- Label discrimination with transparent substrates
- Feed verification on automatic assembly equipment
- Parts sensing on conveyer rails and conveying belts
